Client Report
Neema Michael is a young girl who came to our office on 26/5/2016 after being abandoned to the KCMC Hospital with her boss, after getting accident. Neema got accident on February 2016 when she was going home after her work. She was a bar maid at her boss bar and she working till late hours. After got then accident (motorbike accident) she was taken to KCMC Hospital Moshi and being admitted there for almost 4 moths. Her legs broken 3 times and doctors insect irons in her legs, so that the bones could be connect again.
In the beginning of May, Neema found that the boss is no longer coming to see her and the hospital bills was not being paid for a long time, and she was supposed to have the last operation to check if the bones are connected. The doctors refused to make operation for her until the bill was paid, so because of that Neema decided to run away so that, the hospital management will not sue her. In the process of running away she decided to go to Same Police Center to ask for the help, after explaining what happened, the police gender desk officer decide to help her, by finding his Boss.
So after writing his case, the police gender officer decided to call our office for more help, because Neema was having no place to sleep. It was on 26th May 2015 when we took Neema and take her to the safe house. We continuo helping Neema by counseling her because she thought that on her situation she could no longer be able to do anything anymore.
During counseling process, it is where we found that Neema is an orphan who came from Kigoma Region to seek for work so that she can help her grandmother in the village. Her parents died when she was young and her uncle took her, but the uncle didn't want to take her to school, so later on her grandmother decided to take her and she started to study up to STD Seven. After reached std 7, the grandmother didn't have enough money to take her to Secondary school so Neema decide to seek for any job to gain money for her grandmother. Later someone told her that in town there is a lot of works, so Neema decided to come to Same and started to work as a bar maid at Njoro street.
We stayed with Neema for a month, taken her to hospital using the money we got from Stichting One U life. Sometimes she was getting sick at night; she was feeling the pain from her leg so we bought some pain killers, and also taken her for the x-rays and other treatment, until the day we got her boss. The boss agreed to give some money to transfer Neema to her home place Kigoma. We decided to take her back to her home place because it was more expensive to continue holding her, because the hospital bills was higher and our office doesn't have the budget for hospital issues of clients. So in the end of May Neema finally go back to her family, and she in now staying with her grandmother again, with some pocket money for taking care of her leg when she is at home.
